- We awarded 5 Veterans with beautiful quilts in March. As always they are so thankful for these quilts and can’t get over how talented all of us are. After the last presentation, I was asked if we would do a World War II and a Koren Vet who are at the same nursing home. I told them, of course. Just get the info and let me know. It is amazing to talk to these older vets and hear their stories.
- We will be going back to the 3rd Friday for QOV and the 4th for Sit-N-Sew. We don’t have enough people coming to open for every Friday. Don’t get me wrong, people are working on quilts, just at home. Cheryl and I quilt on Mondays and Thursdays and will be available if you would like to come by and pick up material. Please give us a call as the door will be locked. Of course, on the two normal days you can come by and get material also. Please bring your own lunch if you plan to stay and sew.
Quilt Shows, Workshops & Events
Workshops
On March 26th, Rona Herman (Rona the Ribbiter) presented her workshop titled, “Perfect Points”. She taught us her techniques for perfect pinwheels, perfect curves and perfect Y-seams. It was a great workshop and I believe we all came out knowing something we hadn’t known before (or had forgotten). Her website is https://ronatheribbiter.com Misadventures of the Traveling Quilter. Take a look for her books, patterns and on-line information on quilt shows across the US (great if you are traveling!).
Thank you, Mary and Kris for the wonderful luncheon. It was delicious as usual.
