The UpCountry Quilters Guild actively supports and contributes quilts to a variety of community service projects.  

2023 Kentucky Quilt Total equals 98 - Way to go Ladies

Project Linus

Handmade blankets donated to the Anderson, Oconee, Pickens and Greenville chapter are given to children 0-18 who are seriously ill, traumatized, or otherwise in need.

Project Linus

  • Quilts in the following (approximate) sizes are needed:
    • Baby (36″ x 36″)
    • Crib Size children’s (42” x 60”)
    • Teen (45″ x 72″)
  • Quilts can be flannel, fleece, cotton, quilted, knitted or crocheted.
  • How to donate (TBD – will add info on how and where donations can be dropped off)
  • Contact Info for the local chapter (TBD – this info will be added here)

Nurse Family Partnership

The Nurse-Family Partnership is a program that connects great nurses with moms expecting their first baby.

Quilts in the following sizes are needed:

  • Crib Size children’s (45” x 60”)

    Note: 3 Yard Quilts | Quilt Patterns & Books | Fabric Cafe will work for this category. There are many free patterns on the web, and they take 1 yd of 3 different fabrics for
    the quilt top and 3 yards for backing.

  • Twin Sizes 72” x 90”
  • Queen size 90” x 108”

Baby Bereavement Quilts

Quilts are donated to bereaved parents for babies that have passed away

Baby Bereavement Quilts

These quilts are for grieving parents for their babies who have passed away.  The quilts are sewn and donated to hospitals throughout Greenville, Easley and Oconee.  Some hospitals have chaplains who distribute the blankets, and others are handled by head nurses in the hospital birth centers.

Suggested sizes:

  • 12″ x 12″ and up to 24″ x 24″

Suggested materials:

  • Flannel, cotton quilts without batting
