2024 UFO Challenge

Most of us have lots of fabric, notions, thread, patterns and projects in various stages of completion.

If you are someone who can start and finish a project before starting another one – congratulations!

Some of us see the next new pattern and want to start it right away, leaving the old project behind.

In 2024, we’ll be working on service projects for Nurse-Family Partnership and Project Linus, as well as a presentation quilt for the Pickens Azalea Festival. Finishing our own projects is important too. Sometimes it just takes a little advice or assistance to move along or complete a project.

Challenge Details

This challenge may provide incentive for you to finish a long forgotten project!

Choose one UFO from your past and bring it to the January 2024 meeting
Tell us what this project means to you, why you set it aside, and any sticking points of why you haven’t finished it yet.
Let us provide ideas that might help — It might be something like advice on color, setting or borders. It might be setting up some time at the community center for individual assistance to help on a problem with piecing or quilting.

Challenge Goal: Finish your UFO by the end of 2024

To keep everyone on track, bring the UFO to each guild meeting for a brief update on your UFO’s progress.

UFO Completion Celebration

We’ll have a wonderful time at the end of the year with a mini quilt show of all of the finished UFO projects! This will also give us a good start on a UFO display for the 2025 quilt show.
