The UpCountry Quilters Guild of Pickens County, South Carolina represents quilters of all ages and interests who share in the enjoyment of quilting and fabric art. Founded in 1992, we currently have a membership of approximately 60 members. Our stated purpose is to foster the art of quilting. We believe that the best way to expand one’s growth and knowledge of quilting is through education and fellowship. We hold meetings each month to share techniques, designs, and projects.
Our goal is to teach and further the art of quilting and to use our collective quilting skills to help the community. To that end, we contribute our time and skills by donating community quilts to various organizations in our area who are selected on an annual basis.
Our meetings are open to members and visitors. We participate in many activities and programs throughout the year including donating community quilts, Block-of-the-Month, Challenge Quilts, Quilt Retreats, conducting a variety of classes, and hosting a Quilt Show every other year…check out our long list of activities on our Activities link. Additionally, various well-known speakers are brought in to teach and inspire our members in a variety of areas throughout the year. We also encourage all members to “Show N Tell” about their most recent projects.
Whether you are new to quilting or a seasoned quilter, we encourage visitors to join us at one of our meetings to share the experience of quilting with a fun and exciting group of fellow quilters.
Come join us to see what all the fun is about!
